“Soften” by Photographer Pat O’Malley

All through his childhood in landlocked Omaha, Nebraska, photographer Pat O’Malley (beforehand featured right here) not often interacted with recent or saltwater. “Now after spending the final decade residing and dealing in Brooklyn, I’ve been uncovered and consumed by a love for water in all its kinds,” he explains. His ongoing collection, “Soften,” juxtaposes his affinity for water with the rising international temperatures and scorching warmth waves of our current actuality. “Exploring these themes and their implications for our collective future, his pictures current a tangible distinction between the 2 extremes. Likening our complacency to frogs in a boiling pot, he explains—”we’re sitting idly by because the strong world liquifies.”
